Nigerian singer, Godwin Emefiele has come to the defense of former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele over his alleged theft scandal.
Taking to her Instagram page, she stated that anytime she sees any news update about him, she wonders what ex-president, Buhari and his vice, Emefiele really were.
She noted how Godwin Emefiele was known as the savior in Buhari’s first term of government but has now been accused of fraud. Cynthia questioned how possible it was that Buhari appointed a fraudster to be the governor.
The singer stated that there was no way Emefiele would have forged Buhari’s signature and had stolen $ 6 million overnight.
She added that now is the time, Nigerians need to pray and work for the country.
“Whenever I see a news update on this man (emiefele) I can’t help but wonder who ex-president Buhari and Osibanjo really was. For someone whom most people termed as a savior in his first term of government,
How possible is it that you appointed a fraud to be the governor of the most delicate sector of a whole nation? Who did the vetting? Because there is no way a man who forged your signature to steal 6 million dollars at a go started such a feat overnight.
Now is the time we all need to pray and work for Nigeria”.
Godwin Emefiele is currently battling an alleged $6.3million theft. President Bola Tinubu last year appointed Mr Obazee to investigate him.
EFCC earlier on Monday presented a former branch controller at the CBN, Onyeka Ogbu, as its first prosecution witness, who testified that he received in January 2023 written approvals of then President Muhammadu Buhari and then Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, as well as Mr Emefiele for the withdrawal of the money from the vault.
But appearing as the fourth prosecution witness in the ongoing trial on Tuesday, the former SGF, Mr Mustapha, denied that he or Mr Buhari gave approval for the payment, and said his signature and that of Mr Buhari were forged on the letter purportedly approving the payment.
In other news, Cynthia Morgan called out the music industry over its fake love and friendship, stating that there is barely friendship in the industry as people only remember you when you’re trending or they need you to help them kill a beat.
She admitted that it feels good when such people call her and she declines to collaborate with them as their change in voice makes her laugh.
Cynthia recounted how during her crisis only two people showed up for her, while others especially those she had worked with shunned her.
