Kemi Filani News recalls that in an interview, Nwokeukwu had said she was ready to quit Nollywood for her marriage.
“I am not going be in the game forever. Once I get married, I am leaving the industry.”
On why she’s taking that stance, the ‘Box of Truth’ actress said, “It is for reasons best known to me that I am not willing to talk about.”
Decrying the attitude of young actors to the profession, Nwokeukwu stated, “I used to be quite young when I joined Nollywood. I was about 18 and I have been in the industry for about seven years now. Though I slowed down at some point, I don’t accept every script that comes my way. The industry used to be exciting back then. Now, anybody can just wake up and become an actress if they know the right people. The industry has also improved a lot too. Now, we produce better movies with great cameras, unlike those days when the cameras weren’t too good.”
