Nollywood actress Beverly Naya has shared some healthy secrets of living a happy life. The actress, who has recently been scarce on screen, churned out what she called a self-care tip.
Beverly Naya revealed that the first secret to happiness is to love oneself and take a step back to breathe when one is feeling overwhelmed.
She urged everyone to live their lives the normal way, which includes taking a walk, eating your favourite meal, watching your favourite show and so on.
Beverly Naya further admonished to take a pause in order to take charge of oneself and take time to refill.
She wrote, “To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness. ☺️
Self-care tip: Feeling overwhelmed? Take a step back and breathe. 🧘🏾♀️
Take a walk, eat your favourite meal, watch your favourite tv show, call a friend to talk about whatever, or pick up a new hobby.
Whatever you decide to do, just know that it’s ok to pause in order to centre yourself again. You can’t pour from an empty cup, so take some time to refill, and enjoy that feeling unapologetically.”
Kemi Filani news recalls that Beverly Naya earlier spoke on what inspired her documentary, ‘Skin’, the movie star said that most black women don’t appreciate their colour as many women in our society ‘bleach’ their skin because they want to be seen as more desirable.
“They feel like having dark skin is not beautiful. According to the World Health Organisation, 77 per cent of Nigerian women bleach their skin. Understanding the facts and realising that a lot of people in our society do not have a clear understanding of what colourism is inspired the documentary. It was about creating awareness and allowing people to learn about colourism,” she added.
