Nollywood actress, Beverly Naya has wondered how low-income earners will survive if the Federal Government should declare that people should work from home to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
This was after the Director of Public Policy Initiative at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Foundation, Amara Nwankpa, advised the Federal Government to declare that people should work from home.
Nwankpa tweeted: “Nigerians are being asked to take a lot of personal responsibility for preventing the spread of #COVID19 but the Federal Government needs to step up and declare work-free days and encourage stay at home. If you don’t do it, it will be hard to pull this off”.
Beverly Naya who reacted to the tweet wondered how the low-income earners will survive if asked to stay at home.
She wrote: “Who will support the low-income earners while at home? How can they possibly be convinced that staying at home could save their lives when hunger and poverty give them stress on a daily basis. They will definitely be needing financial assistance, I hope FG realises this.
“The sooner we realise that living in Lala land is not what will protect us, the better for everyone. Everyone needs to be on their toes so people can take this pandemic seriously! The more information we have, the better prepared we’ll be to protect ourselves and our loved ones”.
