Banky W and armed robbers

Nigerian singer, Bankole Wellington better known as Banky W has shared a nasty encounter he had with robbers years back.

He recounted how he was accosted after Church service and was manhandled by the robbers.

He stated that they took him in their car, rough handled him, beat him up and drove him around town.

Luckily for him, his song “Mr Capable” saved him from their hands as they planned to kill him and dumped him off at Ajah.

Banky W revealed how he begged them and had to introduce himself to them.

To make them believe him, he sang his them hit song to them before they let him go.

Banky W made this known during an interview with his bestfriend and media personality, Ebuka Uchendu.

“I was leaving church, I got accosted by armed robbers. They took me in their car, roughed me, beat me and used me to drive around town. I had taken a girl I like to church and the incident happened after I dropped he off. They wanted to take me to Ajah to dump my dead body and I started begging them. Even while I was begging, they told me to shut up and threatened to shoot me. I had to introduce myself to them that I am the one who sang ‘Mr Capable’ and they asked me to sing which I did with a gun in my face”

In an interview with The Visibility Lunch Hour, Banky W said he once struggled with promiscuity and pornography.

“In the eyes of the world I was a successful artiste, but I still felt empty and wretched. There were things I was struggling with on a personal basis. Everything from promiscuity to pornography just, real things that people struggled with on a personal basis. This is now getting to areas where one feel that one is in bondage and one is trying to clean oneself. So you are just stuck in this place of feeling far from God, feeling separated from God. Feeling that I have made a little bit of money but I am still not happy”, he said.
