Popular Nigerian singer and politician, Bankole Wellington better known as Banky W has debunked reports of signing BBNaija’s 2021 winner, Whitemoney to his label.
Kemi Filani news reported that news made rounds last month that the label owner had signed Whitemoney to his record label, EME.
Touching on it, in his recent interview with Hot FM, Banky W dismissed the reports. He made it clear that he didn’t sign the reality star as his label was no longer existing.
According to him, EME doesn’t signed artistes any longer as they have transitioned from record label to a media and marketing agency since 2017.
Shedding more light, he added that he only helped Whitemoney get an ambassadorial deal with one of his corporate clients.
He re-emphasized that he didn’t sign Whitemoney but only got him an ambassadorial deal.
“We transitioned from a record label to Media & Marketing Agency.
I didn’t sign Whitemoney, we helped him with an influencer deal with one of the corporate client that we service, so he is an ambassador for a company. So, we helped him to a marketing situation. We didn’t sign him”.
Banky W signs Whitemoney
In September, Hazel Oyeze Onou better known as Whitemoney had announced his record deal with singer, Banky W’s record label.
The reality star l, who was overjoyed took to his Instagram page to announce the good news.
Whitemoney shared several photos with the singer as he stated that it was time for him to make good music.
Whitemoney added that he was now in good hands.
“Now that we are in good hands, let the music flow”.
While many congratulated him on his new achievement, others fault Banky W for signing him.
Well, it seems all that was a lie or a cruise, since Banky W had debunked it.
Whitemoney releases his debut song
Kemi Filani News recalls that Whitemoney, released his debut single titled ‘Selense’, months ago.
The three minutes and fifty-three seconds single captured the life of Whitemoney before and during the BBNaija reality show.
Whitemoney expressed appreciation to God for making his dream a reality, including fans and everyone who has supported him.
However, many fans and social media users expressed mixed feelings over the song as it did not meet their expectations.
While some netizens advise him to leave music and focus on business or movies, others said he should learn from his colleague Efe and avoid wasting money.
In another video he shared on his social media handle, Whitemoney, while rapping a song said, promised his fans that one day he would win Grammys.
“Music is food to my system, for those who don’t believe I don’t blame you, I am trying to make more friends and less enemies, I promise one day I go win the Grammys”, he said.
