Five members of the vigilantes group in Shiroro LGA of Niger State have been killed by Bandits who attacked a community market in the area on Monday.
The bandits also invaded Beri, Beri-Kago, Gatawi, Kini, Bmada and other adjoining villages in Manta District of the LGA leaving many people injured.
The leader of Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki confirmed the attack to reporters.
He lamented that residents of the LG have been compelled to experience the attack on a daily basis.
“This morning, the daredevils reared their ugly heads again as it is confirmed that, in their large numbers, they stormed quite several communities in Gurmana District of the same Shiroro local government and unleashed havoc on unsuspecting victims,” Yusuf said in part.
Bandits have been rampant in the North West Region of the country, kidnapping, killing and maiming people of the region.
