Nollywood actor and comedian, Ayo Makun has spoken out ok his failed attempt to reconcile with his senior colleagues, Basketmouth and Julius Agwu.

He declared that if he goes to his grave without reconciling with them, he would be happy as he knows he tried his best.

He said, “The bros (senior colleagues in the comedy industry) knew and at some point in time, they had to ask me to slow down. They were like: You’re doing too much. You are putting in too much to make this thing work. Friendship is not by force.

I was believing that “No, this can work’. Even in my last stand-up comedy, I had to go on stage and I did another routine ‘My Guys. How is my guy? This is my guy. If you see this guy, tell him he’s my guy. And the following morning, everywhere exploded again. We are not friends. We are not that. We are not this.

So, for me now, I’m not pushing anything anymore. As I’m here now as AY if I have to go to my grave without sitting with any of these guys to sell ‘hello, ‘hi’, I will be happy”.

Ay Makun reveals the genesis of his long-standing beef with Basketmouth

Recall that AY, in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, went down memory lane in 2006 when he was still a bachelor and trying to earn a living for himself. He said he stood in for Basketmouth at an event however he didn’t receive his pay of thirty thousand Naira which was gold at the time.

He also recounted how he was embarrassed and humiliated at Basketmouth’s wedding.

According to him, he had attended his wedding with his wife but was shocked when he wasn’t allowed to enter the event, as his name wasn’t on the list of guests.

Surprisingly, his wife was allowed to enter as her name was on the guest list. Since her husband couldn’t go in, his wife turned down the invite.

He further revealed how his name would be kicked out of events because Basketmouth was in attendance.

However, Basketmouth had something different to say.

During a podcast with the Honest Bunch crew, Basketmouth disclosed what transpired between himself and AY that made him call off their friendship.

Basket mouth revealed that he and AY had never been friends and they have never had any close or personal relationship with him.

He also disclosed that he came in contact with AY through comedy king, Ali Baba, and he had never mentored him before.

Basketmouth claimed something else, which he will not disclose, happened between him and AY, and no client was involved in their feud.

The father of three alleged that AY was using lies about their feud to promote his show, stating that is his usual style.

However, a photo from years back proved Basketmouth wrong as the two famous comedians had once posed for a photo.

There is more to AY and Basketmouth’s beef; AY hung up on me” Comedian Julius Agwu weighs in

On his dispute with Julius Agwu, the comedian had pitched a tent with Basketmouth as he weighed into their beef

In an interview with radio station, Naija 102 FM, Julius Agwu stated that he believes there is more to their beef.

According to him, he doesn’t think AY’s claim that N30,000 is the cause of their rift. For him, there could be something more that happened behind the scene that made Basketmouth upset but isn’t speaking on.

Elsewhere in the interview, Julius Agwu revealed how AY hung up on him when he tried complaining to him about their crash event.

Every year Julius Agwu always holds a concert on Easter Sunday which clashes with AY Makun’s Sunday Easter concert in Lagos.

When he allegedly called him to vent out, he claimed that AY hung up on him.
