Asiri Comedy, a sidekick of comedian Woli Arole, has taken to social media with an awesome post to discourage people from committing suicide.
In the post, Asiri Comedy revealed how the society is gradually pushing many into harbouring thoughts on suicide by placing standards which must be achieved at certain age in life.
Asiri Comedy wrote:
“A suicide Thread. I have swiftly intervened in two suicide attempts in the last two weeks.
Two friends were on the brink of suicide. There is an unhealthy trend plaguing this generation. The trend of giving special accolades to young achievers.
“We now measure achievements with age, Is age really a factor in achievements? we now have plaques for under 30 millionaires, under 25 awards etc. Whilst I celebrate the recipients of such awards. I strongly believe a millionaire is a millionaire. what is under 20 millionaire?
“We are stylishly tensioning ourselves in this generation and it is already taking effect on people. people are now pressuring themselves with unrealistic timelines. Everyone is in a haste now.
“There is nothing urgent about success.
Success is a cycle of process.
“Congratulations if you made it at 20.
Congratulations if you made it at 40
we celebrate you, if yours is 70.
Congratulations If you marry before 30.
Congratulations if yours is much later.
There is the peculiarity of timelines for different individuals.
“Don’t pressure yourself, Success has no Definition. It is the meaning you ascribe to it,meaning what you call Success is a function of YOU. Don’t allow the world to pressure you. I know you have processed some unverified success stories.
“some of the success stories you are tensioning yourself with, are questionable. Why are you meditating on a hoax? stick with your own process and enjoy it while your story unfold. Don’t process the success of others so much that you lose your grip. You are doing fine yourself.
“Wake up one day and organize an award ceremony for yourself in your room. Decorate yourself lavishly before stepping out. You are doing fine. it gets better. Don’t allow the world to tension you. “Abraham blow at 75, Joseph blow at 30” but we always shout Blessing of Abraham
“Don’t entertain any suicidal thought.
you are doing fine.
your story will unfold.
you will happen to the world
We will celebrate you.
Don’t give up.
