Photo editing is now an integral aspect of social media and photography.
Editing one’s photo, whether through filters or body-enhancing tools and software like Facetune and Photoshop, has practically become an essential step for many people before they share their photos on the internet.
While many individuals modify their images, there has always been one guiding principle: don’t overdo it. Picture editing aims to improve photos rather than radically change the people in them.
But that does happen from time to time. Sometimes people overdo it with photoshopping, and sometimes those people are Nollywood celebs.
So, today we’ll go through 5 Nigerian celebs who have been accused of over-editing their images.
1. Eniola Badmus
This is by far one of the worst photo editing works I’ve ever seen because not only is the edit so evident, but it’s also so terrible.
Eniola’s legs in the photo are so badly manipulated that they stick out in a way they shouldn’t.
As you might expect, Nigerians were outspoken about their feelings over the edit. “This editing is horrible naaa..your shoe did not show well self..and your legs appear weird after the editing,” one user said, while another asked, “Why u edit ur leg like this?” These are just a few of the numerous comments on the image.
2. Tonto Dikeh
Tonto Dikeh, a Nigerian actress, enjoys editing her photographs, especially in recent years. There have been instances when I was reading through my feed and had no idea who I was looking at if it hadn’t been for the fact that the username of the account said Tonto.
She recently shared yet another carefully manipulated photo of herself, and you can already count on folks in the comments to weigh in.
One commenter commented, “Keep on using makeup and filters to filter your face, that’s how they’re going to filter you from the upcoming election,” while another added, “FaceTune po,” to name a few.
3. Toke Makinwa
This is a beautiful image in my opinion, but when Toke Makinwa shared it on social media, some were quick to criticize the Photoshop work.
“You take pictures from abroad, yet you still do Photoshop tweaking,” one user said. For that matter, Europe. “God abeg o! “This is Photoshop, not skincare,” commented another.
4. Nengi Hampson
Nengi Hampson, a Big Brother Naija contestant, was also chastised for over-editing her images. People had a lot of ideas after seeing this picture on social media.
“She looks gorgeous, but the cosmetics and editing have gone completely overboard,” one user wrote, while another said, “This is not natural beauty.” “She resembles a cartoon.”
5. Mercy Eke
The final person on today’s list is Big Brother Naija star Mercy Eke, who shared this photo on social media and received a lot of criticism for her retouching.
“Photoshop!!” one user said.
Can’t you take images without altering them to smoot your body..nawaoo take pics as you are and let us appreciate them..stop with the photoshop and picture upgrades.”
