President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of 20 new private universities in Nigeria.
This approval was given at today’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The memo sent from the Ministry of Education was approved on Wednesday.
The 20 new private universities will be given provisional licenses to run for three years.
During that period, the ministry will monitor and evaluate their growth.
With the development, the total number of private universities in the country has risen to 99.
