Police recover stolen 2-day-old twins, 10 other kids, arrest 8 traffickers

2-day-old twins and 10 other kids, have been rescued from a total of 8 human traffickers by the operatives of the Imo State Police Command

While the arrests were made between 24/07/2018 and 17/08/2018 at Agbor Park in Benin City, Edo State and Imo State respectively, it was gathered that the children are between 1 year and 9 years old respectively

A total of eleven stolen children were recovered from the suspects, some of whom have been identified by their parents.

Investigation has revealed that two of the recovered children, Habeeb and Wunmi, were stolen from Sabo area of Lagos State.

Suspects have confessed to have sold some of the children between N300k and N600k before they were arrested.

Parents/Guardians whose child/children are missing are advised to report to the Public Relations Department of the State Police Command for Identification and collection of their children.

The suspects are identified as: Theresa Asiegbu, Chioma Emeka, Happiness Peter, Martina Nwadike, Ikewete Lucyann, Chizoba Eze, Amaka Eze and Martha Ojimba.

The rescued children are identified as: Somtochukwu Obiduba, Kosarachi Obiduba, Onyinyechi Okpala, Divine Anyaka, Wunmi, Habeeb, Chisere Nwadike, Ginika, Ndubuisi and a set of two day old twin babies (boy and girl).
