Ronda Jean Rousey was born in California in 1987 to parents Ron Rousey and AnnMaria De Mars. Ronda nearly died at birth, suffered a brain injury, and her vocal cords were damaged due to the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck. At the age of six, she could speak an understandable word.
