Peter Okoye was born on the 18th of November 1981 in Jos, Plateau state; Josephine Okoye and Mazi Moses Okoye, who were from Anambra state.
There are reports that Peter Okoye has six siblings, however popular among them his Jude Okoye and Paul Okoye.

Peter Okoye and his twin brother Paul Okoye took an interest in music from a young age, and their source of his inspiration was the late King of Pop Michael Jackson.
The Okoyes went by different stage names until they decided to stick with the name Psquare.
Psquare started out with their first manager named Howie T. as their first manager under who Peter Okoye dropped his album titled, Last Nite in 2003.
The album was a sponsored one as Peter and Paul Okoye had won the Grab Da Mic competition in 2001, which came with opportunities for music sponsorship.
Peter Okoye also released songs like Cool it Down, For my Head, and Look into My Eyes.
