Paul Okoye was born on the 18th of November 1981 in Jos, Plateau state to Josephine Okoye and Mazi Moses Okoye, who hailed from Anambra state.

Career
Paul Okoye and his twin brother Peter Okoye took an interest in music from a young age, and their source of his inspiration was the late King of Pop Michael Jackson.
The Okoyes went by different stage names until they decided to stick with the name Psquare.
Psquare started out with their first manager named Howie T. as their first manager under who Peter Okoye dropped his album titled, Last Nite in 2003.
The album was a sponsored one as Peter and Paul Okoye had won the Grab Da Mic competition in 2001, which came with opportunities for music sponsorship.
Paul and Peter Okoye would later come together to form the Square Records label and were managed by their elder brother named, Jude Okoye also known as Engees.
During their time together, they were one of the most popular singing duo to come out of Nigeria with hit songs like Busy Body, Roll It, Ifunaya, Chop My Money, among others.
