Paul Graham’s career kick-started in 1996 when he founded the first application service provider (ASP) alongside Robert Morris, which allowed users to make their individual internet stores. Together with his co-founder, they named it Viaweb. They later sold it to Yahoo but still had some shares in the company.

Graham and his wife, Jessica Livingston, together with Trevor Blackwell and Robert Morris, founded the Y Combinator in 2005.
