DJ Switch Biography: age, End SARS, seeking asylum,

Popular Nigerian female Disc Jockey DJ Switch has been in the news in the past few hours after she took to her social media timeline to debunk the reports that she was in Canada, where she had sought asylum.

Recall that after the alleged reports on the Lekki Massacre; there were claims that DJ Switch got asylum in Canada and also spoke to some people about the Lekki incident.

Well, DJ Switch, in a post via her Instagram account, revealed she was locked up in a house for months and is leaving the country for the first time since the Lekki incident.

While she refuted the claims that she gained asylum from Canada, the popular DJ revealed she would be travelling but not to Canada.

DJ Switch gained more reputation during the End SARS protest in 2020 when the Nigerian army allegedly shot at protesters; she was reported to have streamed the incident on her Instagram live session.

The Nigerian government would later sought DJ Switch‘s arrest and stated that the Instagram live session was photoshopped, and that the Lekki massacre never happened.

DJ Switch’s Biography

Her full name is Obianuju Catherine Udeh, and she was born in Udi town in Enugu State in 1984. DJ Switch grew up in Warri, Delta State, before she relocated to Abuja and then Lagos. The reports revealed she is the last of a family of eight children. DJ Switch turns 37 in the year 2021.

Education

DJ Switch is a graduate of Geology from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Career

The reports revealed that DJ Switch left her well paying job in a oil firm to venture into entertainment.

DJ Switch made it to the limelight after she became the winner of the maiden and only edition of the Glo X-Factor talent show in 2013.

She would later go on to sign a deal with Sony Music and later bag an endorsement from Peter Okoye’s P-Classic record label.

Before her rise to fame, DJ Switch was part of a music band known as Da Pulse, who won the 2009 edition of the reality music competition, Star Quest.
