Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father, is a business entrepreneur, and his mother, Vero Adeleke, was a university lecturer. Davido is the youngest of three siblings and the second son of his father.
He attended the British International School in Lagos before returning to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue business management at Oakwood University in Alabama.
While at Oakwood, Davido purchased musical equipment and began producing beats. He also formed the music group KB International with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo. Davido left Oakwood University to pursue music full-time and moved to London to work on his vocals.
He paused his music career after returning to Nigeria in 2011 and agreed to honor his father by enrolling at Babcock University.
