Peter Obi’s Biography: daughter, wife, net worth
Nigerian politician and former Governor of Anambra state who was the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Vice Presidential candidate in 2019 General election, Peter Obi, has been in the news over the past few days after his name was mentioned in Pandora paper leak.
This comes as Nigerian media outfit Premium Times while quoting Pandora Papers, listed Peter Obi as one of those who set up and operated secret businesses overseas.
For those who may not know, the Pandora Papers is a leak of about 12 million documents that unveiled the hidden wealth and tax avoidance by some of the world’s rich and powerful individuals.
Like many Nigerians, former governor Peter Obi has reacted to the leak that he broke the law by engaging in private businesses set up in tax havens.
Obi, in his statement, claimed that there was nowhere in the article where he was accused of any form of corruption, whether in the form of diversion of public funds.
The former governor added that the article never alleged that he engaged in unlawful business activities as the allegation made against him bordered more on tax avoidance and non-declaration of some jointly owned assets.
