One of President Muhammadu Buhari’s children, Fatima Buhari, has been in the news over the past few hours following her appointment as a member of the board of trustees of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN).
According to the reports, the investiture took place recently at ANAN House, Abuja, and apart from Fatima Buhari becoming a member of the board, 17 members were also inducted into the institute.
Iliyasu Gashinbaki, who is the current president of CIFCFEN a statement said Fatima Buhari joined the board with a wealth of experience garnered over the years from the public sector and international organisations.
The details provided revealed that CIFCFEN is a body created by ANAN to provide core experts in the specialised areas of forensic accounting and fraud examination in the country.

Fatima Buhari
Fatima Buhari was born on March 7, 1975 to Muhammadu Buhari and Sefinatu Yusuf who happens to be the first wife of the president.
According to the records, Fatima’s mother Sefinatu Buhari was born on December 11,1952, and was of Fulani ancestry. Sefinatu’s roots were traced to the late Shehu Usman Danfodio, who was the ruler of the 18th century jihad that led to the Sharia in the Northern part of the country.
The records revealed Sefinatu was born in Jos, Plateau State to late Alhaji Yusuf Mani and the late Hajia Hadiza Mani on the 11th of December, 1952.
For those who may not know, Fatima is President Buhari’s second daughter and she has seven other siblings named Yusuf Buhari, Nana-Hadiza, Safinatu, Halima, Zahra, Aisha Hannah, and Noor.

She has a postgraduate in account and finance from Stratford College of Business and Management UK; master’s in business administration from Anglia Ruskin University, UK; and masters from the University of Northampton, UK.
President Buhari’s daughter is a fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).

Fatima Buhari is the wife to a former managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, Malam Gimba Yau Kumo; their wedding, which took place in Daura, Katsina state, saw some of the most prominent figures in the country in attendance.
