Former Big Brother Naija Housemate Lucy Edet has opined that the narrative that she sold plantain and roasted fish at the roadside is not valid.
In a post shared on her Instagram story, Lucy said she had a 9 am-5 pm job and ran her grill business on the side because she believed in it and saw where it could go.
The reality TV star said the reports and photos of her selling roasted plantain and fish on the road is one side and biased.
According to Lucy, while serving in Abuja as an office manager for a cinema and home automation company, she saw a gap in the grill business and decided to fill it.
Lucy added that she posted pictures of grills, and people started ordering online and ran the business simultaneously with her job.
She wrote: I had a 9-5 and ran my business on the side because I believed in it and saw where it could go! When I saw this post initially, I ignored it because it was so one side and biased.
I have never been an average roadside seller. I was serving in Abuja as an office manager for a cinema and home
automation company. I saw a gap in the business that need filling. At the time, the street was how I had seen it done.
I loved IG and pictures as I posted people started ordering online, initially it became easier to do online orders and keep my job. By the time I got to Lagos for a job, I woke up by 5 am to make my orders and got to the office before 8, dispart would pick up for the day and I’ll face my secretarial duties at a well-known hospital in Isaac John, Checking online from time to time.
At the close of work, I will branch the market and buy what I didn’t have at home for the next day grill. No one should knock me hustle ever.
