Biafra, Oduduwa: What will it cost Buhari to champion this referendum? – Ashia Yesufu asks

Popular activist, Aisha Yesufu has questioned President Muhammadu Buhari on what it would cost for him to champion a referendum for regions that are calling for separation from the country.

She said one way Buhari can reduce the agitations is by giving room for a referendum.

Recall that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, was arrested a few days ago, and the freedom fight for Yoruba Nation, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has been declared wanted.

Reacting to this, Aisha tweeted, "What will it cost Buhari to champion this referendum? Get the people working on it to quell the agitations. Get to hear from everyone and know if it is the wish of the people or just tyranny of the vocal minority....


Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos will hold with or without Igboho – Co-organisers insist

Following the invasion of Sunday Adeyemi, also known as Sunday Igboho's house located in the Soka area of Ibadan a few hours ago, there were reports that the freedom fighter had backed out from carrying on with the Yoruba Nation rally, which had been scheduled to take place in Lagos on Saturday, July 3rd.

However, a latest reports have disclosed that the co-organisers of the Yoruba Nation rally, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), have vowed to proceed with or without Igboho.

A source in the IOO, a body of self-determination Yoruba groups, told DAILY POST that the rally will go on as planned.

While the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu had issued warnings that anyone caught participating will be dealt with within the ambits of the law.

Mikel Obi’s new club revealed

Former captain of Nigeria, John Mikel Obi, has left Stoke City for Kuwaiti Premier League club Al Kuwait SC.

His new disclosed that Mikel Obi has signed a one-year contract that will keep him at the club for the 2021-22 season.

Al Kuwait finished third in the Premier League last season behind Al-Qadsia and leaders Al-Arabi.

Mikel Obi will not be the only African star at the Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium as he joins Morocco's El-Mehdi Barrahma, Tunisia duo Ahmed Akaichi and Rami Bedoui, and Mali's Abdulwahid Sissoko in the Brigadiers' line-up.

Meanwhile, Stoke City recently activated the contract extension option to keep the former Super Eagles captain following his impressive performances in the English second division last term.
