Rachel Oniga’s Biography
The veteran actress was born on May 23rd, 1957, in Lagos state. Her parents are from Eku, which is located in Ethiope East local government area of Delta State.
Education
Rachel had her primary education at Abule-Ojaa, an area in Lagos state. However, due to her habit of fighting as she was a tomboy, her father withdrew her from a secondary school in Lagos and sent her to continue her education in Edo state. The actress revealed that the change of environment was a devastating experience for her as she was separated from her childhood friends and playmates who were mostly boys.
However, after her secondary school education, she returned to Lagos and went on to study Computer programming.
Career
Following her graduation, she worked for briefly with Asoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch Consultant Company.
She however kicked started her acting career in 1993 after separating from her husband who went on to marry another woman. Due to her passion and hard work, Rachel Oniga has been very consistent in the movie industry.
She made her first major appearanc in a soap opera titled ‘Memorial Hospital’, where she acted as a patient. She hit the limelight in the Yoruba movie ’Boorepo’.
Aside from acting, Rachel is a movie producer and did quiet well for herself during her lifetime.
