Abba Kyari gives reasons for attending Obi Cubana mum’s burial


A Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has spoken out after attending the funeral of Obi Cubana’s mother, Uche.

Abba, who is also the leader of the Inspector-General of Police’s Intelligence Response Team, described the nightclub club as one of the most hardworking entrepreneurs he knows.

Obi Cubana shut down Anambra state on Friday, as he laid his mother to rest at Oba in Idemili North Local Government of Anambra State.

The event, which was attended by businessmen, politicians, musicians, and actors stirred reactions online after Abba Kyari was spotted in the pictures.

But, Kyari in a post on Facebook, said he attended the funeral despite his busy schedule because of Obi Cubana’s good nature.

His post read: “Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana is one of the most hardworking entrepreneurs and Humble personalities that I’ve known for many years. He’s a brother and Good Friend.

“For his good nature and Good heart, I had to Squeeze out time from my busy schedule to honour him by attending the burial of his Beloved Mom In Oba town Anambra State.”

Reality TV star Dr Cherry has called out celebrity Barman Cubana ChiefPriest over alleged staff maltreatment and non-payment of salaries to his workers.

There was a lavish display of wealth in Oba, Anambra State, on Friday when a nightclub owner, Obi Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, buried his mother in grand style.

Several celebrities, businesspeople and politicians turned out in large numbers for the funeral. This was even as huge amounts of cash were ‘sprayed’ at the event, in addition to several gifts he had got before the event, including cows, foodstuff and drinks.

Though it was reported on several blogs that the businessman got about 246 cows, in fact one of his associates, Cubana Chief Priest, was said to have given him 46 cows.

Iyiegbu was also said to have got over N200m from friends and associates. Though the authenticity of the list which had 198 names on it could...
