Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, has joined popular music stars, Wizkid and Burna Boy to bag the 2021 BET awards nominations.
Kemi Filani News recalls that Wizkid and Burna Boy were nominated in the “Best International act” category.
Tems was nominated alongside other fierce international music stars in the “Viewers’ Choice: Best New International act” actegory.
The organisers of the award took to popular micro blogging platform, twitter to make the announcement. They wrote;
““We are thrilled to announce this year’s Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act Nominees; arloparks (UK),BramsitoB7 (France),breerunway (UK),Elaine (SA),mcdricka13 (Brazil),ronisia_mds (France) and temsbaby (Nigeria).”
Tems is a Nigerian singer and songwriter born in Lagos on 11th July 1995. She grew up singing in her church choir in 2009 and rose to become one of the young famous singers in Nigeria. The success of her 2019’s Try Me saw her emerge into a big name in the music industry.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the reopening of the passport application and payment portal from midnight of June 8.
This will allow eligible passport applicants to apply and make payments for the various categories of passports of their choices.
NIS Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede, announced this on Tuesday.
The passport portal was closed following the directives of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on May 17 to afford the Service the opportunity to clear all backlogs of applications that have piled up across Issuing Centres in the past few months
Under the new passport regime, applications and payments for passport services shall be made through the Service website: www.immigration.gov.ng and applicants are expected to visit the portal to apply...
