US international, Christian Pulisic broke one of the numerous records set by Barcelona ace, Lionel Messi’s during Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Porto on Tuesday.
Pulisic broke Messi’s record for the number of times he was fouled during the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals clash in Sevilla.
Chelsea lost the match 1-0 but still progressed to the last four with a 2-1 aggregate win.
The Portuguese netted what became only a consolation goal at stoppage time which could not help them progress in the competition.
ESPN reports that Pulisic was fouled 11 times being the most in a single Champions League match since Messi back in 2011 against Real Madrid.
The US International also won the UEFA Man of the Match award.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea now awaits the winner of the set up a semi-final tie against either Real Madrid or Liverpool.
