Buhari replaces Adamu with Alkali Baba as IG of Police

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed DIG Usman Alkali Baba as the Acting Inspector General of police.

This was confirmed by Maigari Dingyadi, the Minister of Police Affairs, while speaking to State House correspondents on Tuesday.

Usman Alkali Baba will now Mohammed Abubakar Adamu whose tenure was recently extended.

Buhari had on February 4, 2021, extended Adamu’s tenure as the Inspector General of Police for three months.

However, the president did not wait until the expiration of that time, before replacing him.
