The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has denied disbursement of 10,000 bags of rice in Borno State.
The Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Madasiru Osama, had donated 10,000 bags of 15kg rice to all Internally Displaced People, IDPs, in Borno State.
And the rice had the photograph of Tinubu, also a former Governor of Lagos State.
The rice gift was aimed at cushioning the hardship faced by thousands of IDPs during the Holy Month of Ramadan fasting.
The ruling party leader has maintained that he has nothing to do with the rice.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Tunde Rahman, the former Lagos State governor, however, commended the efforts of the various groups for their benevolence.
“We have seen the images being circulated of bags of rice depicting Asiwaju’s face being distributed across parts of the North.
“I am not responsible for this initiative but l commend the efforts of the various volunteer groups responsible for this benign act of charity and love for one another, particularly in this Holy month of Ramadan,” the statement said.
