Why cutting your family off is the best gift to give yourself – Bisi Alimi reveals

Popular Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi has taken to social media to air his opinion on the ongoing conversation about cutting off family members.

This conversation which has been ongoing on the internet following the interview of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving their family due to the damaging the effect it was to mental health.

Some have opined that family is everything and you mustn’t cut them off. However, others have said family can sometimes be toxic and it’s OK to cut them off.

Bisi Alimi joins with the latter and he took to Instagram to make this known.

He wrote;

“I know many will find this hard, but cutting off your family for your mental health is the best gift you can gift yourself. Do it now or they will eat Amala at your burial and spray your money on musician for faji”

#FuelPriceHike: NNPC insist there’s no plan to increase petrol depot price this month

Despite the hike in premium motor spirit, P.M.S, popular known as petrol, by the Petroleum Products Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has confirmed that there is there won't be increment in the ex-depot price of the petroleum product this month.

NNPC made this known in its verified Twitter handle, @NNPCgroup, today, Friday.

The tweet reads, “#NNPC Insists No Increase in Ex-Depot Price of PMS in March.'' This is coming just hours after the Petroleum Products Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, released a template this month stating that the new price of P.M.S has reached an all high of N212.6 per litre.

Hon. Kennedy Ibeh raises alarm on why Imo women are not getting married

Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, representing Obowo State constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, has sponsored a bill to regulate the outrageous cost of customary marriages in Imo State.

Ibeh, while presenting the bill for the second reading on Wednesday during plenary, said that the practice predominant in Igboland, had caused so many of the young ladies to remain single. According to him, “a suitor coming to pay for a lady’s dowry may find it tasking to settle for the English wedding which again demands for more expenses.

Part of the prayers of this bill is that once a suitor pays and completes the bride price of a lady, a clearance certificate should be issued to the groom by the father of the bride, who will present same to the traditional ruler of the community for the final issuance of Customary Marriage...

Unknown Gunmen abduct female students in Kaduna

Suspected gunmen have kidnapped unknown numbers of female students at the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in the Mando in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The kidnapping happened in the early hours of today, newsmen learned.

According to reports, it was the female students that were abducted as the male students were not touched.
