Following Lesotho’s 0-0 draw with Sierra Leone, Nigeria have booked their spot at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles are yet to kick off against Benin Republic in Porto Novo, but their last two fixtures in the qualifying series have been reduced to mere formality.
The goalless draw means Lesotho can no longer qualify for next year’s tournament in Cameroon.
At the same time, Sierra Leone cannot match the Super Eagles’ current tally of eight points.
The Leone Stars now have four points after four matches, while their hosts have three, with one round of fixtures left.
Gernot Rohr’s men are now fighting to finish top of the group.
