Jamb registrar, Oloyede warns parents, students against bribing staff

Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has sent a warning to parents not to fall prey to the tactics of the tertiary exam organizers’ criminal staff members.

The Register sents his warning after two staff members of the exam board were publicly humiliated for extorting money from UTME candidates, promising to secure their admission into the university.

Oloyede, who express shock at the event, said the concerned staff worked against the Board’s zero tolerance for corruption and vowed to make sure they face the full wrath of the law.

He further warned that parents should not be deceived into bribing anyone or paying any money in a bid to get admission to for their children/ward in their chosen higher institution, saying the system is now fully automated.

“Anybody who engages in sharp practices, no matter who the person is, shall not be protected by the Board because the Board has zero-tolerance for corruption,” the JAMB boss said.

“The admission exercise into tertiary institutions has been automated; therefore anybody working in JAMB or anybody who has good calculation, who knows what admission process is, can predict who can be admitted because it has been automated.”
