Former Aviation Minister, Femi-Fani Kayode, has sent a strong warning against the setting of the notorious Fulani herdsmen, Isikilu Akili, free after being captured.
Femi warns that setting Wkaili free would distort the peace process in progress in the area.
Member of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, captured Wakili on Sunday in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State, newsmen reports.
Following his capture, the alleged notorious herdsman was handed over to the state police for investigation and questioning.
The ex-aviation minister says the people of the area would lose their confidence in the authorities if Wakili is allowed to walk free again.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Femi Fani-Kayode asked that the OPC members arrested for capturing Wakili be released immediately.
He wrote: “I call for the immediate release of the OPC heroes who arrested the monster called Wakili and who handed him over to the authorities in one piece.
”Under no circumstance should Wakili be set free. If that were to happen for any reason, it would threaten and jeopardize the peace process that has been put in place very badly, and it would cause many to lose faith and hope in what we are trying to achieve.”
