Decrying the news of the viral news making rounds in the media alleging that fuel price has been increased, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, says it has not received any official letter confirming the news.
IPMAN made this known in a statement by Alhaji Bashir DanMalam, the Chairman of the association; the Kani branch which was released to newsmen.
The Chairman, in his statement, has ordered its members to keep selling the fuel at the old price as there was no official communication from the Federal Government stating an increase in fuel price.
He said that whenever there is fuel increment, critical stakeholders will inform the IPMAN leadership.
He further states that if there is any increment, major stakeholders would inform IPMAN leadership.
DanMalam further urges the entire public to disregard the on-going rumor of fuel price increment.
Danmalam said the leadership of IPMAN has consulted critical stakeholders in the petroleum sector and informed them that there is no such decision of fuel increment for now.
He said IPMAN leadership has spoken to critical stakeholders in the petroleum sector, and non has confirmed the fuel price’s increment.
DanMalam asserts that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has enough fuel for distribution, urging the public to desist from panic buying.
