Mr Olukayode Popoola, Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, on Sunday has confirmed that the Federal Government has decided to postponed plans to partially close the Falamo Bridge in Victoria for repairs and maintenance.
The Federal Controller told newsmen through the telephone that the decision to halt the rehabilitation process of the bridge was reached after he met with relevant stakeholders.
“After consultations with relevant stakeholders, we decided to postpone the rehabilitation work. A new date would be announced for the partial closure and commencement of repair works soon,” he confirmed.
Popoola apologises to the users plying the route and the entire public for the inconvenienecies that the shift in the date for the repairs would cause.
The Federal Government Controller had a earlier announced that there is a plan to partially close the popular Falamo Bridge for the next six-week repair works.
