Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has been lined up as Ronald Koeman’s replacement at Barcelona, according to RAC1.
Presidential favourite, Joan Laporta, has publicly stated he backs Koeman to continue at the Camp Nou.
But should the Dutchman decide to leave, Arteta would be one of the prime candidates to succeed him.
Arteta was only appointed at the Emirates in December 2019, taking over from Unai Emery.
Laporta, a former president of the club, along with vice presidential candidate, Rafael Yuste, revealed the two key additions to their project in a press conference on Thursday evening.
Former goalkeeper of the club, Victor Valdes, was one of the names the sports chiefs have chosen to work with.
The other is Mateu Alemany. Valdes is currently working as the coach of the youth team but will now have to return to the club if Laporta is elected
