Some supporters of activist Sunday Igboho have set up a Gofundme page to raise £100,000 (N51.8m).
UK-based blogger and activist Maureen Badejo, who initiated the fund raising reveals that the N51.8million is to help Sunday Igboho to buy buses to implement his project of ridding the south-west of killer herdsmen.
Already, £9, 515 (N4.9m) has been raised within 19 hours from 267 donors, as of press time.
A donor Sidikat Olufowobi who donated £200 wrote, “I donated because I am a Yoruba woman and want peace in my part of the country.”
A £50 donor Kunle Makinwa wrote, “I am an Oodua tokan tokan (through and through). We will get (sic) by the grace of God Almighty.”
Sunday Igboho has vowed to take his quest to all parts of Yorubaland.
He had earlier issued a seven-day ultimatum to herders in the Ibarapa area of Oyo state, blaming them for kidnapping, killings, destruction of farmland and insecurity in the state.
Accompanied by his supporters, herders were sent out of the town in a bloodly clash.
Authorities have questioned Sunday Igboho’s strategy, calling for restraint.
