Less than a few hours to the set date for the proposed #OccupyTollgate protest, security forces in their numbers, have stormed the Lekki Tollgate axis.
The proposed protest is undoubtedly a reaction to the Lagos Panel of Inquiry’s decision to return the Tollgate to the Lekki concession company.
However, Nigerian youths showed their displeasure on social media, which birthed the #OccupyLekkiTollgate trend scheduled on Saturday, February 13.
Kemifilani recalls that the Federal Government, Lagos State government, and the police force have warned youths against any protest, stating that any law and order breakdown would not be tolerated.
To ensure compliance with their warnings, men of the Nigerian army, police, and other security outfit have occupied the proposed protest grounds.
This was disclosed in a tweet by Dr. Olufunmilay as he wrote: Lekki Toll Gate is full of policemen and police trucks this evening right now.
