Governor of Kogi State and leader of APC youths mobilization committee for party’s membership and revalidation, Yahaya Bello, has confirmed that Femi Fani-Kayode, Former Minister of Aviation has left the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to join the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Bello made this known in a video during an APC event, which was held in Kogi state on Wednesday, where he recounts that Femi’s defection to the part was his greatest achievement as the head of the youth mobilization committee for the party’s membership registration and revalidation.
Yahaya declares, “Our brother and friend, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has joined our party in good faith. He is joining our party to come and add his own positive energy and make contributions to ensuring that APC is a party to beat.
“Remember, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is a foundation member of the All Progressives Congress… Now he has decided to join our party, approached me, and by the mandate giving to me by our party, I must not segregate.”
According to another source, Kogi State Commissioner for Information Kingsley Fanwo said the governor’s statement was true.
“It is a video, and it is clear,” the commissioner opines when enquired on the reliability of the statement of the governor in the video.
Contrary to this, Femi Fani-Kayode holds the stand that he’s still a member of the People’s Democratic Party.
“Though we have had meetings across party lines and we are in a season of political consultation, I have not left the PDP,” Femi tweeted from his verified Twitter account on Wednesday.
