The burial date for popular Nigerian film maker, Chico Ejiro, who died during the festive period has been fixed.
Kemi FIlani News recalls that Chico Ejiro died on the 25th of December, 2020.
His remains will be laid to rest on February 20.
Zeb Ejiro, the elder brother of the deceased who is also a veteran filmmaker, made this known in a statement released on Tuesday January 5.
According to the statement, Late Chico died of complications from High Blood Pressure.
”His demise followed complications arising from high blood pressure for which he had been treated . He had returned delightfully to the only business he was so passionate about and had concluded his movie shoot barely two days before Christmas. His painful death was a tragic drama that took less than 10 minutes and there was silence.”the statement read
According to Zeb, late Chico in the last six years had devoted his entire life and resources to assure the health and survival of his youngest child who was diagnosed with cancer-related ailments while still a toddler. He said Chico’s devoted wife, Joy Ejiro, was in the US for a while caring for their son and had returned with him temporarily for the yuletide holiday after being away for two years.
The Akwa Ibom state police command has detained one Dr. Effiong Udimidue, alongside four staff of the Deeper Life High School Uyo following the maltreatment of an 11-year-old student Don-Davis.
According to reports, amongst the detainees, is Dr Udimidue, retired from the State government currently runs his own private clinic within Uyo, the Vice Principal of the School, an administrative staff, as well as two teachers, who double as Boarding Masters of the Junior students hostel and Senior Students hostel respectively identified as Mr. Akpan and Mr. Nseabasi Joseph.
A meeting was also held in respect of the scandal that shook the Deeper Life High School and adjourned at about 5 pm on Tuesday.
