The bodies of three missing children, Chibugo Eze, Chinenye Eze, and Ebuka Ene, were found dead in a car parked at the home of a retired police officer at Ugwu Ogede in Itchi, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State
According to reports, The victims were declared missing after they went to get some water at a commercial borehole owned and located at the home of the former police officer.
It was gathered that two other children named Kingsley Eze, and Mmasichukwu were equally recovered from the same car. Upon resuscitation, they alleged that three hooded men seized them and left them in the car. The thugs reportedly returned in the middle of the night to get them but they couldn’t unlock the faulty car doors, so they left the kids and ran away.
The parents of the kids had put a search team when the five kids who had gone to the borehole at about 8 am on Sunday, November 22, did not return home as usual. The traditional ruler of the community, HRH, Igwe Ike Oke, who verified the occurrence said that he also gathered personnel of vigilante and Forest Guard groups who joined in the search of the missing children.
He added that leaders of the community are working toward unravelling the events which led to the strange death of the children
