‘SARS can never be our friend’- Governor Nyesom Wike joins #EndSARS protesters in Rivers |video

Governor Nyesom Wike has told #endSARs protesters that the Special Anti-Robbery squad is not a friend of the people.

The governor succumbed to pressure as he joined the EndSARS protesters in Rivers state today October 13 after they marched to the state government house and asked him to come out and address them.

Kemi Filani News recalls that the governor banned residents of the state from staging any #EndSARS protest on Monday, October 12.

However, On Tuesday morning, the youths trooped out in their numbers, defied his order, and staged a protest. Governor Wike was forced to come out to speak with them.

BREAKING: IGP orders all disbanded SARS officials to report at force HQ in Abuja

The inspector-general of police, Mohammed Adamu, has set up a new unit to replace the disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS).

The formation of the new unit was announced after the IGP dissolved SARS following a nationwide outrage.
In a statement on Tuesday, Frank Mba, force spokesman, said the IGP had ordered all personnel of the disbanded SARS to report at force headquarters in Abuja for debriefing.
