President of the African Developmental Bank, Dr, Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina has been sworn in for a second term in office.
Adesina was sworn in on Tuesday, 1st September, at the AfDB headquarters in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, in an occasion that was broadcast virtually.
A former minister of agriculture in Nigeria, he was selected in May 2015; being the first Nigerian to hold the position.
He was re-elected on Thursday, August 27, when the annual meetings of the AfDB.Adesina is the first president to be elected by 100 per cent of votes by provincial and non-regional members of the bank.
