The Kaduna State House of Assembly has approved castration as punishment for those convicted of rape.
This follows the passage of a bill to amend the Kaduna state penal court law, 2017, by the lawmakers.
The assembly, which announced the development via its Twitter handle yesterday, said the bill was passed into law on Wednesday.
Of course, the approval has been received with joy by Nigerians on social media, with the hope that all other states in the country will follow suit.
One Emmanuella wrote “Even though this is good , I pray people don’t use this law as an avenue to hurt someone by accusing them falsel… but good job sir”
One Abimbola wrote “Good one… Remaining the southern kaduna issues”
One Anike wrote “This law must apply to them too, if they’re caught as well. Both high and low, anyway good one still”
One Kenny wrote “Good job, now keep the same energy for under age marriage”
One Arinze wrote “Perfect! they should also make laws for false accusers. And can we even trust the Nigerian police and judiciary to give fair judgement??”
