Police intercept 40-foot container filled with Tramadol and Codeine in Lagos (photo)

Police officers in Apapa Area Command of Lagos State intercepted a 40-foot container loaded with drugs assumed to be Tramadol and Codeine.

According to reports, the container was ambushed on water after which, it was taken to a bonded terminal in Apapa.

It was also gathered that a team of officers from Customs and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) joined the Area B Commander, Olasoji Akinbayo, for inspection and investigation of the container on Thursday, August 6.

The intercepted vessel is expected to be delivered over to appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution, Kemi Filani learnt.
