E! News cancelled By NBC Universal due to coronavirus

After 29 years of providing entertainment news, the long-running celebrity news program, E! News has been cancelled alongside two of its other programs, Pop of the Morning and In the Rooms. Variety reports that NBCUniversal made the decision to pull the plug on the programs to “streamline its programming and restructure internally to create more efficiencies.”

A representative told EW that a financial fallout caused by the coronavirus pandemic directly impacted the cancellation. It’s unclear if NBCUniversal plans to replace E! News with a new entertainment news program. The E! News correspondents would always host the E! Red Carpet ahead of award shows.
