Ben Bruce reveals what the exit of Shoprite means

Senator Ben Bruce has reacted to the news that Shoprite is preparing to exit its business from Nigeria.

The South Africa owned retail company is reported to have made the disclosure after it carried out an operational and voluntary trading update of Shoprite Holdings Limited.

The result revealed that the company recorded losses in its business which are located outside of South Africa.

Reacting to the report, Ben Bruce who has been running the campaign Buy Naija To Grow The Naira called on Nigerians to consume local products so as to help the economy.

“Once again, the planned departure of Shoprite from Nigeria emphasizes why as Nigerians, we must buy and consume Nigerian products if we must grow our economy and strengthen the Naira #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira’, he tweeted.
