Access Bank goes on fire in Lagos

Its a black Wednesday for the staffs of Access Bank as Ademola Adetokunbo Street in Victoria Island, Lagos today, 26th of August after a fire outbreak occurred in the building.

According to online reports, a tanker marked AKD 637 XP laden with what was presumably diesel was at the premises of the bank to discharge its product for the bank’s generator use. In the process, an explosion from a yet-to-be-identified source occurred, igniting a massive fire, which soon spread to a neighboring bank’s building.

In the video going viral on social media, a raging fire could bee seen, while pedestrians from the road and people in surrounding buildings were making a video of the fire. It was learnt that the fire from the tanker consumed a car with registration number AKD 234 FA parked within the bank premises.

However, combined intervention of the emergency responders including LASEMA Response Team, Eko Hotel, LASG fire, UBA Fire Service prevented the inferno from escalating further into the bank building.
