Coming after the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST)’s plan to charge logistic companies in Nigeria, Nigerians have taken to social media to protest against it.
The NIPOST had earlier sent out memo of it’s intention to charge logistic companies registration fee, licence fee and renewal fee.
The memo states that International logistic companies will be charged 20 million naira as licence fee, while state and special SME will be charged 2 million and 250 thousand naira respectively as licence fee.
Other categories includes National, Regional and Municipal with 10 million, 5 million and 1 million naira licence fee respectively.
See the memo below…
However, this new “law” didn’t go down well with Nigerians as many condemned it. See some reactions below…

I didn’t quit my 8-6 to become a full time entrepreneur and a hustler for Nipost to frustrate my business.

Since the start of the Nipost saga yesterday,I’ve been so weak to my bone and so lost of words. How can you make us unemployed and still frustrate the entrepreneur spirit in us.

NIPOST should not be allowed to charge these ridiculous fees, @femigbaja. Thousands of young Nigerians have lost jobs in the last few months. Some turned to courier services. A friend who lost his job bought these from Oride. Please don’t let him commit suicide. #SayNoToNipostFee pic.twitter.com/p9j3Jz5BVl
