Kano State cancels Eid-el-Kabir festivities

The Eid-el-Kabir festivities have been cancelled in Kano State due to COVID-19, the government has announced.

This was announced on Wednesday by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Mr Muhammed Garba.

“The council, after deliberations at its weekly meeting held on Tuesday at Africa House, Government House, Kano, agreed that the conduct of Eid congregational prayers across the state, would be under strict observance of safety protocols.

“The congregational prayers will be strictly supervised by government officials to ensure compliance”.

The government also revealed that safety materials like hand sanitizers, face masks etc will be provided to citizens of the state.
