The Nigerian Center for Disease Control, NCDC, has stated that the COVID-19 test result will not be released of the Nigerians who returned from Dubai, UK and the US.
Chikwe Ihekweazu, the NCDC Director-General stated this during the daily press briefing organized by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
This comes after Nigeria evacuated 253 citizens from the UK and also 265 from Dubai due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The returnees who are having their 14 days isolation will be the only ones who will be aware of their COVID-19 status, according to Ihekweazu.
“We are doing the test, even when the tests are out we are not going to offer it to you. We will offer it to the returnees. If they are patients we will manage that.
“We are not going to make public the results whether you just came back from Dubai or you are living in Nigeria. Results are meant for patients who got tested,” he said.
